Mekân kavramı geçmişten günümüze iktidarların mücadele alanlarını da ifade eden bir kavram olmuştur. Mekânda meydana gelen sosyal, ekonomik, kültürel yapı, siyasi coğrafya ile yeniden şekillenmektedir. Mekânlar, tarihsel süreçler arasında bağlantılar kuran, geçmişin izlerini taşıyan ve ideolojik düşünceleri içinde barındırarak iktidarın izlerini yansıtan simgelerdir. Küreselleşmeyle beraber ideolojilerin yeniden şekillenmesi, mekân içinde iktidarın gücünde değişimlere yol açmaktadır. Küreselleşme, mekânı yeniden kurgulayarak ekonomik-politik mekân üzerinde yeni dinamikler oluşturmaktadır. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın kurumsal çerçevesi temelde David Harvey’in “mekânsal farklılaşma kuramı” üzerinde kurgulanmış, ancak Lefebvre ve Castells’in teorilerinden de faydalanılmıştır. Çalışmanın amacı, küreselleşme sürecinin etki alanlarından biri olan mekân kavramının, değişen anlamı ve niteliğini incelemektir.
Abstract
The concept of space has been a concept expressing the fields of struggle of
the governments from past to present. The social, economic and cultural structure
that occurs in the space is reshaped by political geography. Spaces are symbols that
make connections between historical processes, reflect the traces of the past, and
reflect the traces of power by incorporating ideological ideas.
The reshaping of ideologies with globalization leads to changes in the power of government within
space. Globalization is creating new dynamics on economic-political space by
reconstructing space. In this context, the institutional framework of the study is mainly
based on David Harvey's spatial differentiation theory. However, the theories of
Lefebvre and Castells were also utilized. The aim of the study is to examine the
changing meaning and quality of the concept of space, which is one of the domains of
the globalization process.
