Ortadoğu bölgesi, tarih boyunca pek çok medeniyete ev sahipliği yapmıştır. Bu özelliği ile Ortadoğu bölgesi, medeniyetlerin beşiği olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Ortadoğu bölgesinde farklı medeniyetlerin bulunması bölgede bilim, sanat, edebiyat, tarihi eserler gibi pek çok alanda önemli gelişmelerin ortaya çıkmasına katkı sağlamıştır. Ancak Ortadoğu bölgesi, son bir asırlık süre içerisinde savaşların, çatışmaların ve iç çekişmelerin yoğun olarak yaşandığı bir bölge olarak hatırlanmaktadır. Bu temelde, çalışma, Ortadoğu bölgesinde bir kültür olmaya doğru ilerleyen çatışmanın kaynağını sorgulamak amacı üzerine inşa edilmiş ve öncelikle Ortadoğu bölgesinin tarihsel çatışma geçmişi ele alınmıştır. Yorumsamacı yaklaşımın benimsendiği çalışma üç bölümden oluşmaktadır: Birinci bölümde, kültür kavramına ilişkin değerlendirmelere yer verilmiştir. İkinci bölümde ise çatışma ve stratejik kültür kavramı ilişkisi ele alınmış ve bu bağlamda Ortadoğu’da yaşanan çatışmaların nedenleri açıklanmıştır. Son bölümde ise Ortadoğu’da yaşanan çatışmalardan yola çıkılarak mezhep tartışmaları, Arap Baharı ve sonrası gelişmeler ve de bölgedeki terör örgütlerinin eylemleri üzerinden örnekler verilerek bölgedeki çatışmaların ortak sebepleri ve özellikleri ortaya konulmuştur.
Abstract
Middle East Region has hosted many civilizations throughout history. With this feature, the Middle East Region is defined as the cradle of civilizations. The presence of different civilizations in the Middle East Region has contributed to the emergence of important developments in many fields such as science, art, literature, and historical artifacts in the region. However, the Middle East Region is remembered as a region where wars, conflicts, and internal strife have been experienced intensely in the last century. On this basis, this study was built on the purpose of questioning the source of the conflict that is progressing to become a culture in the Middle East Region. Before making this questioning, the conflict history of the Middle East Region was discussed in this study. This study has emerged with an interpretive approach and consists of three parts: In the first part, evaluations on the concept of culture was revealed. In the second part, the relationship between conflict and the concept of strategic culture was discussed. In this context, explanations have been made on the reasons for the conflicts in the Middle East. In the last part, the common causes and characteristics of the conflicts in the region were revealed by giving examples based on the conflicts in the Middle East, sectarian debates, the developments in The Arab Spring and its aftermath, and the actions of terrorist organizations in the region.
